Kognitio supports merger of Abbey customer and IFA information

their clients more efficiently. |

Kognitio, the UK's leading Retail Financial
Services information management and data movement specialist,
has completed a major data migration project on behalf of
Abbey.
Scottish Mutual, part of the Abbey National
Group since 1992, acquired the healthcare company, Pegasus,
in 1995 and found that healthcare related customer and IFA
data was housed in a 'legacy' system. Kognitio was contracted
in October 1998 to bring their data management expertise to
bear in the transformation and migration of this essential
data onto SOLCORP/INGENIUM.
"Having inherited
a legacy system through acquisition, we found that we had
also inherited a series of problems. The solution was to physically
transfer all our inherited data from Pegasus on to another
central database. Now that Kognitio have assisted in the migration,
we have vastly improved the quality of information we hold
about our clients and IFAs."
Allan Gibson, Team Leader at Abbey.
"The Abbey Data
Migration was a highly complex project, calling on a wide
range of knowledge which Kognitio has developed in understanding
the Retail Financial Services sector. Now that the work is
complete, Abbey will benefit from considerable cost savings
and will be better able to service IFAs and their clients
more efficiently."
Tony Sadler, past Managing Director of Kognitio.
