Overview:
Based in Bracknell, Berkshire, Kognitio’s Technology and Data Centre is where all the development of the WX2 product takes place. WX2 is an in-memory MPP analytical database server with unmatched performance and scalability. Historically the product was closely tied to a proprietary hardware platform, but now it will run on any set of x86 processors on top of a number of Linux distributions.
We are looking to recruit a server software developer. As a Kognitio developer you will help develop the database server software code in our world-beating product.
All development is done in C under Linux, so we would expect candidates to be strong in this environment. Familiarity with SQL and relational databases in general would be an advantage though in-depth expertise with a particular database product is not required.
Each developer has responsibility for a significant module within the server, and is responsible for all the design and implementation within that module. In addition, developers are expected to assist with support of the system as a whole, and their module in particular.
We also use Qt and C++ for development of cross-platform GUI tools, and there will be future opportunities for server developers to get involved in this area should they so wish.
